Proftpd

Comment by Peter: FTP is so out. And he is right! When a SSH server runs, SCP will do the job! A good Windows client is WinSCP. Ubuntus Nautilus works too: Just type

ssh://user@server in the adressbar

.

Installation

Install proftpd via apt! Although the gui provided by gproftpd is nice, it's not worth the pain (at least on my pc).

Example of /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf

# /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf -- This is a basic ProFTPD configuration file.
# To really apply changes reload proftpd after modifications.
